A boy from Wales is nicknamed "Pinocchio Boy" because of his long nasal protuberance which resembles that of the Disney character. Many made unpleasant comments about the boy's mother because of the child's appearance, but she decided to talk about her.

Ollie Trezise, from Maesteg, was born in February 2014 with a rare condition which caused his brain to grow through a crack in his skull and protrude into his nose, making him look like Pinocchio.
When she was 20 weeks pregnant, Ollie's mother, Amy Poole, learned her baby would be different when doctors told her about developing soft tissue on his face.
However, Poole was shocked when she gave birth and held Ollie in her arms. She said: "When they gave me Ollie, I was so surprised I could barely speak. He was so small but he had a big bump the size of a golf ball on his nose."
"At first, I wasn't sure how I was going to cope. But I knew I would love him no matter what he looked like."
Poole started hearing unpleasant and hurtful comments from people when they saw Ollie's nose. She said: "It was devastating. Once, a woman told me I should have never given birth to him. I was on the verge of tears. For me, Ollie is perfect. He's my real-life Pinocchio, and not I could be more proud of him."
In November 2014, Ollie underwent successful surgery to reshape his nose.
"After the surgery, Ollie had a big crooked scar on his head. It must have been very painful, but he laughed and laughed," Poole said.
“His positivity made everything so much easier for me.”
Now fully recovered, Ollie loves swimming in the pool and playing with his sister Annabelle.
Seeing Ollie being bullied, Poole is determined to raise awareness of Ollie's condition. She explained: "I don't want other children to face the same hurtful comments that Ollie has endured, and I think the best way to combat this is through education. I'd rather people ask me why Ollie looks the way he does instead of just telling me that it's bad or point the finger and stare."
"Ollie is a unique, smart and funny boy, and he surprises me every day. He is my special little Pinocchio, and I will never stop loving him."
As Ollie grows, his self-confidence and self-acceptance strengthen. He embraces his uniqueness and sees it as a source of strength rather than weakness. Ollie's story inspires those who meet him, teaching them the importance of accepting and celebrating differences.
Ollie's story spreads across the world, touching people's hearts. The media shares his journey, and he becomes an advocate for people with rare conditions, raising awareness and promoting understanding.
With the support of his loving family and friends, Ollie faces life's challenges with grace and determination. His bond with his sister Annabelle grows every day as they face adventures and moments of mischief together.
