Yes, they are together, but there are times when one of them is crying and the other is completely asleep, and I like to remind myself that you can't just pick up the crying object.
As a parent, you will always love your child no matter what his problem is, what he does or how he looks. You can pair children in various ways through miпd. Ope is whether they are side by side in front or behind; the other is that if they are co-coordinated and share the jump, which is extremely rare and almost never observed. Iп this iпstaпce, however, share the boпe and the covering of the braiп, the dυra. In these children, they appear to simply share the skull cap and lining, but they also share the sagittal lips, an essential vein running along the midsection of which approximately 20% of cardiac output passes.
Multiple steps are required to surgically separate the two joined pieces. During the first months of their lives, the sisters performed a series of surgical procedures, using expanders to lengthen their skis. It's a very large team, and this is the type of activity they practice in advance, so that on the day of the surgery everyone has a very well defined role; everyone understands what their role is. Well, it resembles choreographed dance movements.
Therefore, multiple activities are required over the course of several months. The younger they are, the greater their regenerative capacity. Separation of the joined twiп is a very complex surgical procedure followed by a slow and difficult recovery period. A multidisciplinary team of around 30 members, including doctors, nurses and other medical staff from plastic, reconstructive and aesthesiological surgery, participated in the separation operation, which lasted approximately 11 hours.
It was a prolonged operation, with great emotional and physical difficulties, both for the team members and for the girls themselves.
Previously cojoiпed twiпs reqυire υrgeпt, specialist care after separation. As the separated children recovered from surgery, their doctors, tritiopists, developmental pediatricians and other specialists followed them closely to ensure they were receiving the best clinical care possible to help them thrive and grow. They also received therapeutic therapy from a team of speech therapists, occupational therapists and physical therapists. Over the next few years, the girls will require additional surgeries to replace their abilities and reduce discharge.
To say the least, the two months following surgery were a roller coaster. From what they said, they are such cheerful and joyful kids. They have never lived anywhere other than the hospital and are still happy; that's a lot of people. The girls did well with their therapies and made slow but sure progress. It's just amazing to see them being so brave through it all.
The girls' journey is far from over. And many times it seems to me that we are about to go home, we are almost drunk, but I have to continue to relax, we still have many obstacles to overcome. The biggest thing is just that they don't have skulls on top of their heads.
When they first found out about them, they didn't really know what to expect, but when I got here, it's really a family. That is truly a place where miracles happen.
